Sunday's run was a 7.1 miler along the Five Mile Greenway, a project of the Freshwater Land Trust, Rails-to-Trails and City of Fultondale. Started at Black Creek Park.

My neighbors had not been on the Five Mile Greenway before and I suggested it to them Saturday afternoon during a yard chat. They mentioned they had started training to walk another half-marathon later this year. I wanted to run the trail again, so we decided to drive out Sunday morning.
I ran the Fultondale segment of the actual trail and a short distance in the Black Creek Park, for a total of 7.1 miles of running.

It was pretty warm this morning, but not nearly as hot to me as the past few morning runs had been!
After the run, while I was cooling down, I hung out near Black Creek with a couple of caterpillars. I made sure they made it safely across the gravel path. Scroll down to the end for some video of the caterpillars crawling through the grass.

Once the caterpillars were in the grass heading toward the Creek, I strolled down and sat on some big boulders while waiting on my friends to finish their walk.

Sunday August 15, 2021

Lunch / Dinner: August 15, 2021

Waited until around 1:30 p.m. to eat late lunch/early dinner. Started with a nice large Pruden's Purple tomato that I grew in backyard garden.
After the tomato, I enjoyed 4 Kii rosemary crisps and a few tablespoons of whipped feta from a batch I'd made about a week ago and needed to finish off.
I then enjoyed just over a half-pound of Gulf shrimp that I sauteéd in EVOO with Shine Springs Farm peppers that I grew and some fresh cilantro, seasoned with capers, lemon and lime juice and sherry vinegar.

After my late lunch/early dinner, I watched some of Stage 2 of LaVuelta 2021 (replay from earlier in the day) and ate a couple of ounces of cheddar cheese with some pork rinds.
Watching LaVuelta was tiring, because it looked so hot and dry. After an hour of that I turned back to the replay of Stage 9 of Tour de France–one of the rainy, chilly stages in the Alps!
Around 6 p.m. I had a large chocolate milkshake made with quite a bit of Breyer's chocolate ice cream and NorCal Organics Whey Protein mixed with unsweetened coconut milk.
Sleep
By 7 p.m. I was super-sleepy. I usually read a while before turning off the light but not tonight. I hit the lights tonight around 8 p.m. and quickly fell asleep!
