Contributions as a College Faculty Member at Samford University

This page is a work-in-progress as I document my work as a college professor at Samford University, where I was an assistant professor in the Department of Journalism and Broadcasting. I resigned the position and left Samford, rather than seek tenure.

In 2012 I developed and began teaching one of the first undergraduate courses in “social media practices” for students in PR, advertising, journalism and broadcast communication. I was assistant professor at Samford University at the time in the Journalism & Mass Communication Department.

Faculty Shop Talk I gave at Samford University, October 2012. Many of these concepts were incorporated into courses I taught, including Communication Arts I and II and in the magazine feature layout module of the intro visual storytelling, which focused on using InDesign to create page design layouts for various media.
